Christina and Jonathan had their ceremony at the First Baptist Church, in Worcester MA and their reception was at the Hartman's Herb Farm in Barre, one of my favorites spots. Their photos as bride and groom was taken at the WPI campus, the Higgins House is fabulous background for photos. The highlight of the day for me was when Christina's grand father sang Ave Maria during ceremony... it was beautiful to hear his voice fill the church with so much pride, and I can only imagine how special it was to her. I met Ben and Ellen about a month before their wedding and could not believe that a person could put together a wedding together that quick until I met Ellen. They had a very intimate ceremony at the Swedenborg Chapel, and then let me tell you... they had an awesome party for all their family and friends. What a crowd that loves to dance, all ages to all songs... really cool, I saw Ellen dancing with pretty much everybody that was there, she simply drag everybody and had fun... you can see some of th fun party shots down bellow. Vanessa and Brandon, what a perfect wedding they had, even the weather turned around for them and they had sunshine. Vanessa planned all the details, I mean everything to perfection, she decided on agarden theme and everything was tastefully done and thought out. Her flowers were espetacular, Jeff French never desapoints me, but this time he went far beyond... love the flower and decor and general.

They got married at the Tower Hill Botanic Gardens in Boylston MA, which is central mass it is for sure one of the most beautiful locations, everywhere is a great background, I swear I could shoot all day there and have different things. Jessica and Carlson got married at one of the most beautiful locations in Massachusetts. The mansion at Turner Hill is surrounded by the pristine lawn of the golf club and gardens. The interior is gorgeous examples of workmanship, from the days that every detail wasn't overlooked, I particularly loved the ceilings, absolutely stunning! Also their service, it was phenomenal!!

This couple was so much fun to work with... I love that they decided to have a mini cooper instaed of a limo, LOVE IT!!! As I watch them together thru the day I noticed the way that Eddie looks at Ingrid, so cute... you can see how much they love each other and how much they enjoy being together. It is almost there is nobody else in the room. The got married at one of my favorites locations, possibly the most beautiful around Worcester... so many different gardens, places, etc... we were very lucky to have a sunset at the end of their session... Check out their reception room, it's this cool green house which is awesome for a wedding.... stunning! Also, I love that they had legos at their tables for people to play and build things, Eddie and Ingrid definitely had some cool and original ideas!

This is was such a nice wedding, it felt so easy and natural, I know that the fact that I just shot the bride's sister wedding, Kathleen and Jason, played a great part on being natural, their families and friends were so nice to us and everything was so beautiful. I loved the movie theme that they had, and the candy bar was phenomenal, the best that I've seen. It was hard to choose a favorite part of the day, but I think was Kathleen's toast, she manage to incorporate the movie theme and still be very personal. Christina and Keith just had the most amazing wedding at the Colonial Hotel in Gardner. She looked stunning and the day was gorgeous all the way around. I loved the Armenian dances during the reception, but my favorite part of the day was the final speech from her priest, it was so touching and real. I also want to make sure to mention that they had a wonderful videographer Jeff Brouillet. Sarah and Brett are one the sweetest couples I have ever worked with. They were so happy in spite of all the things that weren't going as planned, they were out of electricity and no water until the day before, imagine that!!!The Reception was held at Sarah's parents house in Hardwick, a beautiful New England property with stone walls, fields, old trees and had that charm. One of my favorite moments of the day was when Sarah, her friend Kellie and her parents and brothers walked down the fields towards the small little town to get married in this old and charming church, I also loved the bells going off as they made their way out to greet their guests after the ceremony. Congratulations Sarah and Brett, I can wait to hear about the honeymoon you had.

Hey everybody, I just wanted to let you know that I'll be lecturing a series of Photography Classes, starting in February. These classes are for people that enjoy photography and want to learn the technical and creative principals of this art, also we'll be dipping into more advanced techniques on Module III. Please find bellow the information for the Classes, Module I starting on February, on evenings, check the blog soon for dates.

Module I, learn the technical part of photography, the buttons on the camera and what are they for, and how to use them creatively. Light meter, Exposure Value, Shutter Speed, Aperture, ISO, Depth of Field, the Zone System and Exposure Compensation.

Module II, learn the creative aspect of photography, how to take your work from a snapshot to a photograph. Composition, Perspective, Depth of field, Color, Direction of light and Quality of light.

Module III, expand your knowledge and experiment with these new techniques. White Balance, Selective focus, Histogram, High and Low Key, Understand natural and available light better, Painting with light, Panning.

All classes will have handouts, assignments and reviews from the preview class.

At the end of all three Modules we will have an open Gallery Show featuring the student's work here at the studio.

Classes will be limited to 10 people, we want to keep small so you can you really learn.

Modules will be of 5 weeks, with evening classes of 2 hours.

Cost of each module $200.

Required: SLR camera with the ability to use it in Manual ( I can help you choose a camera at registration, if you don't have one yet)

I have known Ana since I first came to the United States. I met her through a friend and we became really good friends. I actually think of her as a sister since we both don't have family here. I'm so happy to know that she has fulfilled her dream of getting married and having a family, and finding the right person, having a wedding and a lot of photos taken of her and Jimmy. Yes, she is all about the photos, sounds a little superficial, but it's not, she is a very special person. The thing is that Ana is a ballerina and she has been on a stage for most of her life, trust me she loves a camera and the camera loves her back. The bride and groom were so sweet. The couple's reception was at Blissful Meadows in Uxbridge, MA. This golf course, is not like an average course, it has many scenic locations to take photos. The staff were also helpful and friendly.

Cassy decided to share photo space with her boyfriend and sister. They were all great to be photographed. More photos of Cassy to come with some really cool prom dresses from Elegance by Carbonneau.

By the way, we will be participating a the 1st annual Pre-Prom Fashion Show and Dance at the DCU center in Worcester, MA on Friday December 18 at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. This is a great way to see all the latest styles in gowns, hair, nails, tanning, and don't forget PHOTOGRAPHERS. Hope to see many people there.

New Hampshire Wedding

This New Hampshire wedding was located on the groom's father's farm. The area was surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful scenery. The couple couldn't have asked for a more beautiful fall day for their wedding. I especially loved that everyone was up for taking photos using the tractor and barn.

The couple incorporated many different cultural traditions into the ceremony, making the wedding beautiful and unique. Congratulations to Michelle and Angus!

I'm a bad blogger and I know it!!! Sorry my blog followers, but between having my mom visiting from Brazil and all the busy season at the studio I haven't really had time to blog.

I shot Paula and Iran wedding September 19th, they are such a sweet couple. it was a great pleasure to work with them. The best part for me as a photographer was that not only the bride, but all the girls int he wedding party were all about photos. LOVE it!!!

I shot Lidiane and Derek's wedding on August 29, the weekend that a hurricane was passing by and I have to tell you, thank God for my good friend, second photographer/ assistant Andreia. Obviously we didn't go out side to take photos, well, at least not Lidiane and Derek. The Willowdale Estate in Topsfield is one of my favorite places, the facade is awesome, and the inside too. So we did get some outdoor shots, Andreia holding the umbrella for her and I, getting wet, and the bride and groom by the doors. It was totally worthed! This couple is so sooooo so sweet. She is dead gorgeous, did I mention that she is Brazilian :)

Anyways, I loved working with them, and with both of their families too, her mom was very emotional, and I did simpatize with her, I actually kind envision that my wedding would been as nice if my mom could had come then too. That made extra special for me, I was very happy for Lidiane, she was surrounded by her loved ones, including the ones from far back home.

The first picture bellow is when they saw each other for the first time. I had an amazing time, and inspite of the wheather, the wedding was perfect!

The Making of a The Imagery Studio Image

I recently got a few questions regarding to the post-production of a wedding image, so I decided to elaborate a little bit and explain what goes into making of my images or better yet, what happens after I leave a wedding, so here is my workflow to edit wedding photographs:

1. After leaving your wedding, all RAW images will be downloaded into two hard drives, number one (that stays at the studio) and number two (that travels with me). This is a prevention for your files, having back ups in two different places would protect the files in case something happens to my computer or even to the building that they are in.

2. Also I make a third backup on DVDs. After the DVDs are burned and checked, I can erase the Memory Cards for a new shoot or wedding.

3. All the files are uploaded into Lightroom. (See photo examples bellow of how they look straight out of the camera, before any editing)

4. I look at every single picture taking by me and the second photographer (when there is a second photographer), and sort them all, marking the photos that I will use.

5. Verify if I miss anything important in my selection, just to double check.

6. Start Basic Retouching and Post-Production: make any necessary adjustments, like exposure, cropping, contrast, dodge and burn if needed, saturation, sharpening, etc.

7. Export all final files to JPGE into a separate folder

8. Work on all final files in Photoshop for small enhancements that haven't been made in Lightroom. (See photo examples bellow for basic retouching and post-production)

9. Organize all final files and rename them to present to client in order.

10. Burn a new set of DVDs with all the final edited files in JPGE.

11. Re size all final files for web.

12. Upload all final files to the online gallery.

13. Notify the client. (If a proof book was ordered, I'll send to the lab after this step. Proof Books will have the Basic Retouching and Color Adjustments of step 8)

14. Any other artistic enhancements and our signature style will be done once the client place a order for prints, enlargements or albums. All my finished printed images (not proofs) won't leave the studio without being retouched or enhanced. (See photo examples bellow for Artistic Enhancements/ Our Signature Style)

15. Any custom product like special occasion cards, collages, albums will be a collaboration of photographer and client on the design process and it requires a signed approval from client, then go to lab.

16. Images provided on a High Res DVD will not have the signature style or artistic enhancements. The images will have the basic retouching and color adjustment of step 8. Clients may request enhancements or advanced retouching on a separate disk for individual files, separate charges may apply.

Our Signature Style:

Formal of Family and Friends:
We treat the formals as a portrait that the Bride and Groom would like to probably display on a frame around the house, with that being said, all portraits would be a little bit more on the traditional side, with everybody looking at the camera, no fun cropping will be applied to these photos as I mentioned before, they are portraits.

Photos of Bridal Party:
Photos of bridal party will be at first treated as portraits and they will follow the same guide lines as formal of family and friends, after the portraits are done, with time permitting I like to create some fun and creative poses for the bridal party.

Photos of Bride and Groom:
The couple's images that you will find on my website are all from real weddings and reflect my artistic sensibility. Obviously some time went into creating an image, if the couple provide only 10 minutes with the photographer, the chances are that the photographer will not even have the time to create the romance atmosphere for the couple to relax in front of the camera. All images are a collaboration of my creativity, time and willingness from the couple.
The photos will have at first a more portrait feel, with bride and groom looking at the camera, after that we will have fun looking for great backgrounds and natural lighting. The creation of artistic images, fun and different cropping, additional lighting, unusual posing, all of these are part of the artistic images. Don't forget that time is needed to explore all of these things. I always like to have a meeting with my couples before the wedding to talk about all of this and discuss all their ideas and the appropriate amount of time for each individual part of the wedding.

I know I have been a very bad blogger, but between weddings, high school senior season, a few newborns, house renovation and also trying to enjoy a little bit of the summer, I haven't had a lot of free time. I love the wedding season, I get to meet so many nice couples and for sure I enjoy all of them for their uniqueness.

I recently shot Laura and Alex's wedding, they got married on a beautiful day, the lighting it was just fenomenal, kind of overcast but not really, just perfect! Also I love that Laura and Alex they gave me plenty of time and inspide of the changes on our original schedule, we still had a lot of time to do photos of everybody and a really good time with the bride and groom only.
The whole event took place at one of my favorite places, the Hartmans Herb Farms in Barre MA, if you don't know them, you must to take a trip and enjoy their beautiful gardens. As you can see bellow, good place for photos. Anyways, it was a fun, beautiful wedding. Thank you and Congratulations Laura and Alex!

I love working at the Hartman's. Especially when the bride gives me a lot of time for photos. This wedding was a very intimate, fun wedding. It was somewhat different than a traditional wedding. It was very relax, with games on the lawn after the ceremony. The kids had a blast. It was certainly beautiful in all aspects. Congratulations Rebecca and Mike, your family is beautiful!

This is a small preview of this past weekend wedding. It was one of the most amazing weddings I've done. The couple is sooo awesome, their family and bridal party was phenomenal to work with, and the Willondale Estate in Topsfield MA, is probably my favorite location for a wedding. There are so many great spots for photos, the place is beautiful and charming, and their staff is really nice and professional. It was a pleasure to work there. But above all this, I must say that the best part was the amount of time that the bride and groom planned for photos, they saw each other before the ceremony and had a private hour just the two of them, after the ceremony we had another hour for family, friends and bridal party, and then they joined their guests at the cocktail hour. It was the most perfect schedule a bride could give a photographer, especially in a place with so many photo opportunities. Thank you so much Eric and Shannon, it was an honor to photograph your special day!
