Good Pictures Tips

Good Pictures Tips - By photographer Glen Johnson "Digital Wedding Photography: Capturing Beautiful Memories"

Decorate the girl's room just as carefully as you would any other part of the wedding location, because a large portion of your pictures will be taken there. When you choose a location, pick a room with some r-o-o-m and lots of natural light. On the wedding day, have your girls clean up all the non-wedding messes such as piles of blue jeans and tennis shoes or other clothing that are not wedding related, but don't make the room too neat; messes are okay if they are wedding messes. Empty boxes and bags should be placed somewhere outside the dressing room. It looks wonderful to have all the dresses hanging and shoeslying around on the floor, but they look awful if they are still in the box, or if they have piles of plastic wrappers and cardboard boxes lying next to them. Flowers also look much better in some sort of vases instead of the cardboard boxes the florist packed them in. Cover up any ugly furniture with plain white drape cloth.

Lighting is extremely important for the girl's dressing room. The windows absolutely must be open to bring in the natural light. If you have anything distracting or unsightly that would be visible through the open windows, place some light gauzy curtains over them to cut back on the views while still allowing the light to comein. If you have no window light, think romance, and get creative. Use lots of candles or little Christmas lights placed around the room.

Shafts of sunlight streaming in the windos may look great to human eyes, but that extreme level of brightness is an otherwise dark room is a photographer's nightmare. If you must use a room with direct sun on the windows, put up some curtains to diffuse it. You can also put light cotton cloth over the outside of the window in order to cut down the direct sun. If you want the absolute best lighting for your dressing room, pick something large, north facing windows - this is a photographer's dream come true.

Have your little and precious thinks with you. If he sent you flowers and a romantic card, don't put it away yet, leave that around, I'm sure you want to remember those things, we love to photograph details, that's what make weddings unique. Have your jewelry, shoes, purse, flowers set to go for the photographer.

The absolute best time for romantic photo shoot is the hour before sunset and about twenty or so minutes past sunset. This is what photographers refer to as the "Golden Hour". The light is low, golden and very soft. Allow yourself time for this shoots, I'm sure you will want those shoots for your album, and romance doesn't really happen in 10 minutes.

Here some suggestions to improve the romantic pictures:

Don't smash faces together when you kiss. The most romantic part of the kiss is that moment just before the lips actually make contact. Take it slow as you get in close and linger at that place where there is about an inch between your lips.

Try not to tilt your head to the sidewhen you kiss. Face straight on at your partner so that the photographer can see both faces from the side.

Don't pucker your lips out when you kiss. Kiss with a relaxed face. When you are not kissing relax your face so much that your mouth hangs slightly open, as you were breathing through the mouth.

When you are walking, try to occasionally lean in for a kiss without completly stopping.

Be aware of draping your hands over your partner in a very relaxed way. Clenched fists and stiff fingers translate that feeling into the whole image.

If you have an idea for a picture or a pose, don't be affraid of suggesting, it might be silly at first and don't work, but certainly can develop into something great.

Other than that just relaxe, play, dance, laught, it's you day... we want to see your joy through the lenses.
